5. DeadMau5

Bteambomber Bracket

1. Bteambomber
2. TMac357
3. byExpert
4. Roy Tarpley
5. Sofakingbad

Mild Sauce Bracket

1. Josh
2. Steve
3. Brockin25
4. chelo
5. Greenwing
6. jmlamerson

Cselby Bracket

1. Stinkin Bishop
2. Jeremy_Conlin
3. Illmatic74
4. Josh626
5. nopiforyou

I'll do the topics for Bteam's bracket and Mild's bracket.  Bteam does the topics for the others.  Remember Bteam, if there are more than 4 people, you match up the bottom 4 in the first round.

Voting on each debate round will be Mild, Selby, myself, Bteam, Josh and Stink, with a rule being that you are exempt from voting on your own bracket, and, if say Bteam and I were in the Finals, neither of us could vote of course.

Here are my first round matchups and topics:

Bteambomber Bracket

2. Tmac357 v. 5. sofakingbad - Who is the best player in the previous decade between Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant?
3. byExpert v. 4. Roy Tarpley - Who is currently the better PG, Chris Paul or Deron Williams?

Mild Sauce Bracket

3. Brockin25 v. 6. jmlamerson - Best team of the past decade, the 01 Lakers or 03 Spurs?
4. chelo v. 5. Greenwing - What force was more responsible for the outcome in the 06 Finals?  The Heat playing well/Dallas playing poorly or the referees?

Here are the sides, which I'm gonna just predesignate to make it easy.

Posting first:

sofakingbad - Will argue in favor of Kobe Bryant
Roy Tarpley - Will argue in favor of Deron Williams
jmlamerson - Will argue in favor of the 01 Lakers
Greenwing - Will argue in favor of the referees being more responsible for the outcome

Responding

Tmac357 - Will argue in favor of Tim Duncan
byExpert - Will argue in favor of Chris Paul
Brockin25 - Will argue in favor of the 03 Spurs
Chelo - Will argue in favor of the Heat playing well and Dallas playing poorly being more responsible for the outcome

You gentlemen are free to research or not research any sources you choose, remember the rules:

You cannot post twice in a row at any point
No quoting
No more than 4 paragraphs per post
No more than 10 lines per paragraph

Those designated to start... when you're ready to post your first post, start a thread called, for example "Round 1 - Sofakingbad v. Tmac357" and then PM your opponent when your first post is in with the link.  The judges will be responsible for finding your posts, and when all posting is closed (in 1-1.5 weeks)(I'll give 24 hour warning), the judges will begin to score the threads.  I'll figure out if we're doing the voting in the open or behind closed doors.  I don't want judges losing time in their lives by having to post 1000 words on why they voted the way they did.

What if there is a tie?

Why so few judges?

Is it a point system?

Wait, are you even in it?

Also, if there is a tie, LKDude will break it.  Each vote counts for 1 point.  If you get 4-2, you win..

No, I'm not in it, but I'm very interested to follow and maybe even judge.

There should be a point system to make it more fair.  Reasoning, form/style, etc.  That way, you get a breakdown, people can know what to work on, and in later rounds you can seed by the scores in the previous round.

I'll know what I'm looking for to award my single point...  it's just freestyle posting... whoever can find the facts/rationale on which the winning argument hinges...

I was actually wondering how I can be partial by being a judge and a contestent at the same time.

It's like Joey Crawford playing for the Heat (again?).

Still think there should be more judges, especially ones that are not participating in the tournament.  Bias much?

Yes. More judges = better. I volunteer to judge any bracket that I'm not in.

I agree, having judges that aren't in the game should be fundamental.
