Boise State is like the new Gonzaga. They're a " little engine that could " type of story that ESPN is gonna milk until they fade like Gonzaga did. Boise would have at least 4 or 5 losses if they joined the SEC.
Try 2.

Try 2. 2 what? I have a hard time believing Ryan Mallet in ARK wouldn't carve Boise up and Arkansas isn't even the cream of the SEC. Cam Newton @ Auburn would run through Boise too. Florida and Alabama would run through them as well. And Les Miles/LSU wouldn't lose to Boise either.

If Boise was in the SEC and they had to matchup week in and week out with those SEC squads they'd get beat up every week and worn down. They're too small in the trenches and they have no depth there. Boise can beat a finesse Pac-10 school like Oregon State, sure... they can win a shootout. Boise has 40+ players on their roster from the state of California, so beating a finesse Pac-10 team in a shootout is right up their alley. A much different story down south.

Teams that people said the same thing about as you're saying here. Maybe if Boise State lost a game or two against these teams, you'd have a point. But they don't. They win. And I don't care who you are, winning what? 54 games in a row at home is an accomplishment. Remember, they absolutely manhandled a Rose-bowl bound Oregon Ducks team at home last year. It sounds to me that you're one of these SEC honks that keeps overrating your conference every year. Florida sucks and is waaay overrated, just for starters.

I'm a big Boise State fan and agree that they deserve a chance to compete for the title but the SEC is by far the best conference in the country. Its no coincidence that they've had the last 4 national champions. That being said, no, they aren't invincible. I'll go back to Utah crushing pretty much the same Alabama team that won the title last year in the Sugar Bowl 2 years ago to prove my point that mid-major schools can play.

That's like saying that the Pacific division is the toughest in the NBA because the Lakers always play for the championship. When you look at the conferences as a whole, the SEC is not better than the PAC-10. The SEC constantly schedules cupcake teams in non conference play, so when they play themselves, it's always "look how tough our conference is because we beat each other up". Well, play some tough non conference teams, and schedule them as away games like the PAC-10 does and show what you really have. Because as it stands, you only have one great team and a bunch of decent ones that haven't proven anything as a conference as a whole.

The funny thing about Gonzaga was when they had mid-major talent they were able to beat major teams, but as soon as they got major talent they stopped beating major teams. They went from the biggest overacheivers in college basketball to being one of the biggest underacheivers in recent years.

SEC teams could play them but they are too busy playing the Tennesse Tech's and the Furman's of College Football.

Try 2. They could compete with Bama. They would mop the floor with Florida. Boise st is still under rated its shocking. They have beat everyone, and yet still they get no respect. This years Boise st is the most experienced team in college football. They have the best pure passing QB in college, and an under rated defense. 2 what?
