Quote
Jason Richardson is eligible for a contract extension, as he is entering the expiring season of his current deal that will pay him $14.4 million in 10-11.

"We've had a number of preliminary discussions regarding Jason," agent Dan Fegan said. "We expect to resume talks to determine a direction in the near future."

Under $10m/year please.

I would even say under 8m/year, but I don't think that's possible.

I would even say under $6.07m/year, but I don't think that's possible.

I would say Jason Richardson signs with Taiwan Dacin Tigers for $100k/year, but that's not likely because Dacin Tiger players are getting paid less than $50k/year.

I would wait and see how the team fairs this coming season before doing anything. He's 30 in January, I think ... if the team doesn't do too well, would you really want him making around 8m a year or whatever it is on the payroll when guys like Hedo are there taking up a big chunk also.
If the Suns play well and even close to last season, then yeah, open discussions.

I wouldn't resign him unless they're well over the cap tbh.

I'm assuming you meant well under the cap.

No because if you're well over the cap you wouldn't be able to use money on anything of his calibre. So you might aswell re sign him.

If you're well under the cap you'll be able to spend some money on something that might actually make you a contender.

I honestly don't see Phoenix as contenders atm, as I'm sure alot of other don't aswell. I don't see a point of resigning someone and wasting cap if it's not making you better.
