Quote
Pacers forward Danny Granger expects the team's playoff drought to end this season.

Indiana added point guard Darren Collison in a four-team trade involving Troy Murphy this summer.

"Overall expectation is we should be a playoff team this year," Granger said during an appearance on 1070 The Fan.

"We have the pieces and although we are young we still have the ability to do better than what we have done in the past years. As long as everybody stays healthy and we make a commitment defensively we should have a pretty good year."

"High Hopes."

You have to, no matter how unrealistic it may be (I guess it's not too much of a stretch for the Pacers, but I'd be surprised). Despite the big whole at PF, they have to believe that they're capable of it ... I like the attitude.

It's like Kurt Rambis said the other day when asked about the Minnesota Front Office's letter to fans announcing that the team wasn't going to win a championship this year. Even though it's obvious, he replied with something like "I don't accept that. I aim to go out and win every game. If I didn't believe we could do it, I wouldn't be doing this job." Unrealistic, but you always have to believe that it's possible somehow.
