The Pacers set their roster for the 2010-11 season on Monday by releasing rookie big man Magnum Rolle.

Rolle would have earned a guaranteed contract of $510,000 if he had made the roster.

Indiana traded the 57th pick and cash to Oklahoma City to acquire Rolle, the 51st pick, on draft night.

I thought this was sad.  Here we have a great kid, who is working his butt off every day.  The fans seem to like him also.  We let him go, because we had no room left at the inn.  They can say it was because would couldn't pull off a last second 2-for-1 deal to create room.  I disagree totally.  Magnum was left out because Larry did make a deal earlier this summer

Larry had the fortitude to race out months before the final cuts and offer a guaranteed contract to Lance Stephenson, who may end up doing time for what happened with his girlfriend.  Lance fell to us in the second round because of repeated issues off the court, so naturally we hastily use up a roster spot on him.

If Lance sees jail time, there will be a rebellion, again, with torches and pitch forks this time.  Look for me in the front row.

Those who do not learn from their past are doomed to repeat it.
