Stevenson isn't exactly helping his case at the end of the season.  As far as Hayes goes, I'm pretty sure he can be easily replaced by a player in the draft (depending on how things fall that is).

hayes looks like he lost a step even tho he young, from all the injurys he had over the past years, he was alot more explosive in his rookie season.

but lookin at the playoff performance's and after caron ,arenas got injured the backup/role players are just not good enough, jamison is a great player but he cant do everythin for this team. get rid of them all apart from the big 3 ,Darius Songaila and blatche.

Your team is in trouble when roger mason jnr is one of your better bench players

Haywood is out. After the nameplate incident, I won't be surprised if the Wizards will let go of him and start to look for a good Center. They'd still have Etan Thomas, but I think he'd be better as a back-up Center.

I also think either Hayes or Stevenson will be out. If Washington gets someone really good in the draft, he'll replace whoever who leaves.

Nah, probably not. I think that's kinda less than what Gasol is worth.

Possibly something like:

Haywood, Hayes/Stevenson, some other guy (possibly Mason) and a 1st-round pick for Gasol. Give or take a 2nd-round pick for Memphis.

Yeah, I think that's a better idea. Though Memphis may want to get one of the Big 3 if Washington decides to get Gasol.

why does the salary chart for the wizards say that stevenson is under contract for the 2007-08 season but everyone is saying that he's a free agent? and it also says that hayes has been made a qualifying offer ... so does that make him a restricted FA? sorry if these are dumb questions but i'm trying to learn how the salary cap works.

btw, is there any chance the wizards can pull off another kwame-like trade with haywood this summer? o_O

Stevenson has  an opt out clause that he is sure to use so that second year of his contract will probably be void.

We might need to resign him for cheap becuase there is no one else out there.  Maybe we can draft a 6-6 defensive minded guard(i.e. Aaron Afflalo or Nick Young).  I

I wish we could dump Haywood and sign Mikki Moore.

is that trade even possible.  I think their salaries are not close enough.
