Washington sends Thornton, Jianlian, 2011 2nd round pick.
Detroit sends Villanueva, 2011 1st round pick.

Detroit loses a fairly big salary to go after someone better in the offseason. Also gains a nice forward who penetrates well and draws foul. Also Yi is basically the same player Villanueva is. Just not with a big contract.

Washington does this deal in hopes of a good lottery pick. I mean if they got really lucky in the draft with two lottery picks they could get Barnes, Jones, Sullinger etc.

Wait so Detroit gives up their best scorer and a 100% lock lotto pick for 2 bums and a 2nd rounder?

I love this...

8 and 3 and 20% with EFF of 7.4 from long range is the same as 16 and 5 shooting 43% and EFF 14.45?

I highly doubt that.

Now.. i am not saying he is not trash... i do agree there. His numbers are not the best and he plays almost zero defense, which as a big man makes you virtually worthless.
However his numbers are not inflated. The guy averaged 13-6 his rookie year, averaged 16-7 his fourth year, and has never dropped below 11.7 - 5  (actually 4.7 but whatever). I wouldnt call 14-5 an inflated stat-line

yi still has potential

No he doesnt. I think at this point the only improvements he will really make are experience and IQ. Which could be great for him, but its questionable and does anyone really see him playing above like.. 15/8? Doubtful.

The most value in the whole trade is Detroits 1st rounder, which may end up a top 5 pick the way Detroit is playing..............

Everything else involved in the trade is of little or no importance

on the court:
CV > Yi (both suck)
marketing:
CV <<<<<<<<<< Yi

the pistons should do it if the pick was lotto protected

Detroit has less Asian people than any other major city in the United States. I don't think they are worried about marketing to an asian community.

and while Charlie V is one of the most inconsistent players in the league, he does have the skill to explode. I don't think Yi has the skill to pop off for 48 points.

Charlie V is a better player than Yi. It's not even debatable. They both aren't very good, but Yi is a whole other level of suckiness.
