• Overshadowed somewhat by No. 4 overall pick Thomas, Chicago guard Sefolosha has raised some eyebrows with his dazzling play. Over two games, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound native of Sweden has proved himself to be a solid defender and a crafty scorer in the open court. He has made 11 of 16 shots -- most of them on slithery drives to the hoop -- and is second on the Bulls in scoring at 16 points per game. That's 2.5 points a game more than Thomas.

Chicago traded up to get Sefolosha, who originally was drafted 13th by the Philadelphia 76ers. So far, the Bulls have used him at both guard slots.

Is this 6'5" Sabo from Sweden as good as the 6'7" Thabo from Switzerland?

did you notice that the post and article date back 2.5 years?

Sorry just noticed you're in some kind of turn back the clock, rock n' roll oldies mode for no apparent reason.

Since we've resuscitated this old thread, let me say Thabo's great play of late doesn't surprise me at all.

The guy is just caught in a numbers game behind Gordon and Hughes, but as Stacey said last night during the broadcast "He is the Bulls' best perimeter defender".  He's such a good passer for a 2, and he seems to have worked on his jumper as well.

What's great about this small lineup, especially with Thomas and Gooden sidelined is that it maximizes the amount of talent on the floor. It creates mismatches going so small, but as last night's win against the Jazz showed, that's not always a bad thing for us.

The thing that's been holding Thabo back this year, outside of minutes, has been that the guy has always seemed to get into new systems slowly. It took him 2 years to finally turn it on overseas, then it took him 2 years before he turned it on during the second half of last year. This year he enters another new system, and if he continues to play like he has been the last couple of games, then a third of a season is actually kinda encouraging.
