I asked in the Lakers board so I figured I'd ask in the International board as well. Anyone seen Shammond Williams game first hand? If so, what do you think?

I remember Shammond back when he played at UNC, aswell as when he was with the Sonics awhile back.

I heard awhile back that he won an MVP Award in Europe, for whatever league he was playing in.

From what I can remember, Williams was always a shoot first kind of guard. He was more of a combo guard than anything, and back when he was in the NBA, combo guards weren't really acceptable. They fit more in the NBA these days, I think he could really be servicable now.

He is Kevin Garnett's cousin.

Thanks. I knew about the KG connection as it has fueled the conspiracy theorists on L.A. sports radio.

I'll see if I can find any archived UNC footage of him.

Still, if anyone overseas has seen him recently I would love to hear your thoughts.

I saw him playing in Euroleague this year.

Typical shoot-first PG, inconsistent. Sometimes hits a ton of 3 pointers, sometimes dissapears.

statistics from last season:

i saw him in a few games. he really played nice! but he´s still a shoting point guard. sometimes selfish, but really a deadeye shooter - hands down! he´ll be good enough for backing up at guard.

He's only been out of the NBA for a year.  Shoot first PG, can hit the three, poor passer, fits in triangle since PG isn't the primary ball-handler.  He's the vet version of Smush Parker.
