Yahoo sports says that if the suns dont win the champ, they will think about trading amare for the top overall pick. Would you rather have oden or amare?

I would rather have Oden because he's more of a franchise player and leader.  Also, he's a more intelligent player, and he's a better defensive player .

I'd take the risk on Oden.

Oden looks like he's going to be a dominant true center who can dominate the game at both ends of the court. He has amazing post moves already and should be able to come in and contribute very quickly. While he is a bit of a question mark given that he hasn't played a single game in the NBA yet, Amare too is a bit of a question mark given his fairly recent knee problems. While he's looking good now, the fact that he had that microfracture surgery is always going to put his health in as a question mark, as his knees will forever be weaker because of it.

Anyone thinking of getting rid of your All-NBA first team center for a unproven phenom is a NUT!

I'd trade Marion and Thomas for Oden...

the Suns trade Amare? you have to be kidding.

firstly, why would I trade a PROVEN power forward that can drop 50+ against any team vs an unproven defensive minded big guy?

don't get me wrong, I think Oden will likely be a damn solid center. but it's not a given.

and the Suns style wouldn't cater to Oden's half court/defense first style.

honestly, the best fit for a player like Oden would be San Antonio or Detroit. but of course, he'll never play for either of those teams early in his career.

well put man, this would be a bogus trade for the Suns to even consider making.

i think what about htinking big and trade marion, who has said he is unapreciated in his team and the pick for oden and an expiring contract from that team. oden and amare will redefine what a twin tower alignment should be because they are big man who can run all night long.

or they could just get a big man  in the draft, a banger who could ease off the burden of amare defnding opposing bigs. and let marion freelance

Why should the Suns have to trade an all star or an NBA first team player AND a pick for a 19 year old college freshman who hasn't proven anything? That would be one of the dumbest trades ever. I don't care how good they are, the Suns already have two guys who are better and a possible lottery pick where they can get another great young player like Al Horford.

At very very most, trade Marion and the 29th pick. Thats it.
