Zach Randolf to Houston for Juwan Howard, Kirk Snyder and Bob Sura.

Does nothing for Portland but gets them out from an ugly contract.

Makes Houston a legit contender

This will be locked unless you can tell me what I'm missing. Randolph is a 20/8 guy. You dont give those away. Explain please.

Randolf is either going to Washington for Jamison, or to NJ for Jefferson.

Zach's attitude and overpaid contract will be hard to move.  If Portland wants to build a dynasty around Oden they need to clear room and work with the rest of their great young nucleus.  In my opinion they cant move Randolf fast enough.

So then buy him out! The reason they've still got him is because they know better than to give away a man who scores their points and rebounds the ball. Those guys you mentioned wouldnt get a game- you might as well buy him out!

I'm beginning to wonder if all these people suggesting Randolph trades have ever seen him play. Yes, he has strange lapses of judgement in his personal life. Yes, he isn't the world's greatest defender. But he's a hell of an offensive player.

Zach has excellent touch inside and frequently gathers offensive rebounds for putbacks. His jumper is very solid out to about 18-20 feet. He's not a throwaway player. The Blazers will want some value for him if they trade him.

I've got a better idea.  How about Randolph to Memphis for Mike Miller and Damon Stoudemire?  Damon can help the young points and he's well liked in the Portland area.

I believe it does make Memphis better.  They gain a solid low post player who can clean the boards (Memphis was 5th worst in the league) and some much needed toughness (say what you want about Randolph, but he's no marshmallow).  Maybe the Blazers also throw in one or two of their second round picks.  Front line for Memphis: Gasol, Randolph, and either Rudy Gay at the 3 or someone with their #4 pick.

Exactly.

Miller is of greater value than zbo.

Zbo to RJ seems fair to both sides. With kirstic coming back and if they keep vc and kidd, a starting unit of kirstic, zbo, nachbar, vc, kidd w moore, boone, williams, wright off the bench looks good to me.
