I've been sitting on this one awhile.

Houston gets:

Bell
Diaw
K. Thomas
24th pick

Phoenix gets:

McGrady

If Houston wants more:

+ 29th pick and/or 08' 1st rounder

If PHX wants more:

-Thomas; +Banks, Piatkowski, J. Jones (bad or expiring contracts.)
-24th pick

I don't think the Rockets would consider a deal like this given the season Mcgrady just had. Tracy is a superstar player and superstar plays don't get dealt for 3 solid role players and a late first rounder.

The thing about this, and a lot of trade ideas, is that I dont see the point. It's not addressing either team's issues. Houston needs a third scorer and a point guard. Phoenix needs better post defense and a bench big.

This is assuming the Rockets make more moves.

For example:

I think Mike Bibby's misery in SAC outweighs the money he'll lose by opting out of his contract. I think he likes future Rockets coach, Rick Adelman. A max MLE contract (~5yrs./32M) should do it. (I hope.)

A big problem for the Rockets is that they don't have many quality players worth extending that they drafted. Because Les Alexander doesn't want to go over the Cap and w/ 2 max players, 3 Draft picks (24th, 26th, & 29th) would give them the ability to draft good players that can be extended w/o the Luxury Tax kicking in. (I think that's how it works.) Or they can use them to trade up.

Kurt Thomas' contract (8.1M) expires after 07'/08' season. So they could let it expire and have flexability next year or use him as trade bait.

Rafer Alston and/or Luther Head are players w/ some vaule on the market.

Though it looks pretty good especially if Houston gets more picks but I am not sure the Rockets would wanna trade their superstar player who is big as hell in that city of Houston right now.

really would tmac fit in the suns? probably not tmac needs the ball in his hands alot of the time and usally creates his own shots, while the suns rely on steve nash, 1 ball for 2 guys isnt going to work
