Here we go, it's the Semifinals (going on right now).  The first matchup, right now, is CSKA Moscow vs. Panathinaikos.  CSKA is currently leading by a single point (43-42) in the 3rd quarter, after being down by 14 in the first half.  Great matchup here.

Diamantidis with a spectacular drive - one of the best basketball players who is not in the NBA right now.

Sarunas Jasikevicius is playing really great basketball at the ripe "old" age of 36.

Jasikevicius comes up huge in the clutch again!   Panathinaikos leads 64 to 60 against one of the top teams, CSKA Moscow in this semifinal.

Milos Teodosic with a huge shot to give CSKA the 65-64 lead with 38 seconds remaining!

Oh my, Panathinaikos misses, Shved makes the 1st Free throw, misses the second one, but Mike Batiste of Panathinaikos slaps the ball out of bounds, and CSKA retains possession with a 2-point lead, with 20 seconds to go.

The referees have missed some calls here and there.  And now Teodosic misses two HUGE free throws, it's a one possession game (2 point game), Panathinaikos has the ball, with around 9 seconds remaining.

And CSKA wins the game by 2 points after a huge comeback!  Fitting that the game ends with the ball in Andrei Kirilenko's hands, since he was the best player for this team this season.  Cool to see Deron Williams in the crowd over there in Istanbul, of course he played a very short stint with the Turkish squad.  Prior to this game, Jasikevicius was 8-0 in the Final Four (now 8-1), though he had a great game.

Anyway CSKA moves on to the Final game this Sunday.  Meanwhile the other semifinal (FC Barcelona Regal vs. Olympiacos BC) is set to tip off shortly.  It should be interesting.

Spanoulis has been clutch in these last few minutes, and there he makes a pass to Joey Dorsey for a basket and an and-1 opportunity.  It's a 68-64 lead for Olympiacos with under 20 seconds remaining in the game.

It was an exciting ending in that one (OLY - BAR). CSKA has been a strong favorite most of the season though.

The 3rd place game is underway now, and the championship game will be starting later (20:00 CET, which I believe is 2:00 pm EST).

CSKA is leading Olympiacos by 3 points (61-58) with 10 seconds to go.  Kostas Papanikolau is at the FT line, and he has played very well for Olympiacos today.

OHHH!!! Olympiacos with the SHOCKER!  They have come back down 19, and even about a minute ago, it seemed CSKA had this game sealed, and Olympiacos wins it - one of the most unexpected Euroleague champions of all time!!!  What. a. finish.  Not Panathinaikos, not Barcelona, not CSKA, but Olympiacos is the Euroleague champion.  They were all great teams but this was really a remarkable finish here by Olympiacos in one of the most thrilling Euroleague finals ever!

I watched the whole game, then switched the channel during the time out and missed Siskauskas free throws and the game winner.  luckily there was a replay.  I can't believe he missed both though.  crazy.
Ivkovic comes back to win Olympiacos to win their second EL title, 15 years after he won the first one with the same team.
