So, does anyone have ideas for our upcoming draft? I can see us getting Tyler Zeller at 10, but do you think we could trade up for Bradley Beal using the #6 NJ pick and our later #10 pick?

Neither. God realizes how Portland got screwed by physically breaking their last #1 pick, and thus will give Portland another #1 pick this year.

Knowing Portland's luck I am predicting the worst possible lottery results. 9th and 13th. Anything better would be great, but I'm not expecting it.

No, the worst luck would be for NJ to get the #1 pick, and end up being a playoff team next year.

Who are you all hoping for? I'd like to pick Waiters at six and Henson at 11. What are you thinking?

Ugh, these are horrible picks. Way too high for those guys. I'd like to see Lillard at 6 and probably Zeller at 11, but it's not going to happen. It's probably going to be Drummond and Marshall.

Some are high on Lilard, others think he has no business being in the top 10. Zeller is good, but not anything special. Drummond shoots 22% from the FT or something and is the biggest project in the lottery. Marshall is good, but Waiters could be a Wade-ish player, in an arena who needs a new star, and Henson is a defensive beast.

Lillard-Zeller or Drummond-lamb
They are in a tough spot. I'd be interested to see what happens if drimmond goes top 5 and Barnes/mkg/Robinson is available. I'd think they'd have to take them, but Barnes and mkg play the same position as batum and Robinson the same position as Aldridge.

I don't think Portland would have a problem with taking MKG or Robinson. We can easily let Batum go. I'm not saying he isn't a good player, but I'm not sure I would pay him 10 mil a year either. He was wildly inconsistent when given the minutes this year, which was a major disappointment. Meanwhile, if we picked up Robinson, it would give us a failsafe, just in case the worst case scenario happened (Aldridge wanting a trade from a rebuilding team) and gives us another player who can play beside Aldridge, who has played time at center (not to say he liked it). Drummond is a project who could turn out great, or he could end up sucking wind. Portland has bad luck with big guys in the draft, and Drum can't hit the broad side of a barn. I'd much rather it if someone we know is solid, like MKG or Robinson, slides to us.
Hoping for someone sliding, but I'd still be happy with Waiters and Henson. Zeller could be a solid contributor to and has gotten better every year. I'd be on board with that at 11, though I've heard he's sliding a little.

I was actually going to come here and say that I think these two will be picked. That would be a nice way to start the season.

Now Hoopshype is saying Waiters might go as high as number 4.... Some people are thinking we may pick MeyersLeonard with the 11th. Any opinions on this kid? I've heard he outplayed Zeller by a long shot at Portland's workout, and he grew late in his college career, starting as a guard before he sprouted up. That could give him a unique set of skills as a big man.
