The current rumor is that Baron Davis is threatening to opt out of his contract next year if the Warriors don't offer him an extension.
Also, Pietrus is not being pursued by anyone at the moment, so it looks as if he'll have to accept the $3.47 million tender the warriors are offering.

If I may chip in my 2 pennies- I dont think Davis is worth near-max money in any way. I hope for your sakes he doesnt get it.
When guys start talking about 'who wants me the most' and 'loyalty' i vomit a little bit.

A rumor im gonna start all on my own is Gerald Green to the warriors. He's young, hasn't played enough to establish himself (and therefore will come somewhat cheap) can shoot and is an athlete. Fits perfect into the system.

And he's a knucklehead, an opinion some other Warriors' players gained in their previous teams. Not saying I agree witht his, just a funny thing. I guess Green is best suited for an up-tempo offense, as he has trouble learning plays and remembering defensive schemes.

Reserve center Mbenga has shot to stick with Warriors Saturday, Jan 5, 2008 8:38 am EST
Getty Images Reserve center DJ Mbenga has five more days to sweat it out, but his chances look good for staying with the Golden State Warriors for the rest of the season according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Mbenga's one-year deal, signed Nov. 17, becomes guaranteed Thursday. The Warriors can cut the 7-footer loose before then with no further obligations, but Mbenga has made a strong case for continued employment by supplanting Patrick O'Bryant as the first big man off the bench.
The biggest potential wrinkle is the status of reserve point guard Troy Hudson, who is expected this month to undergo hip surgery that would essentially end his season and leave the Warriors without their primary backup for Baron Davis. If GM Chris Mullin and Coach Don Nelson dip into the NBA Development League to replace Hudson, Mbenga would be the most logical player released.

I'd like for Mbenge to stay on the team... Golden STate should trade for a PG or a player that is capable of playing the point. Juan Dixon of the Toronto Raptors could be a possibility. He's been rumoured to be unhappy and might be dealt at the trade deadline.

The OFFICIAL Warriors rumors thread! I dunno what to say yet, because nothings really been buzzing around the warriors, and I'm not really in the know, so someone start us off! YAO MING will be traded to the Golden State Warriors as the Houston Rockets start rebuilding a new team around Tracy McGrady. Yao and Rafer Alston and Steve Francis will be traded to the Warriors for, Pietrus, Monta Ellis, Al Harrington, O'Bryant and a first round pick for each of the next two seasons. The new look Warriors will look something like this: Yao Biedrins Jackson BD Alston Barnes Webber Croshere Azubike Francis
