Yah, Thats how I understand it too. The Houston Rockets made a verbal offer to Omer's agent, But until the contract sheet is written and signed there is no deal. Once the contract sheet is written, Omer's agent can bring that to Gar Forman and the Bulls then have 3 days to match it or let Asik go. Houston is using some unconventional ways to do things. So right now the Bulls have to sit and wait, They can also offer Omer a contract sheet at thier own terms and force Houston's bluff. But I feel there is a bigger picture we don't know about and the Bulls aren't committing to Asik just yet. So until a contract sheet is written by either team, This is a stare down.

Bulls / Bills / Marlins / Noles ben gordon was a guy he trusted and always passed to when he was open. those other guys are not the kind of shooters i'm talking about, they are more mid range guys. how many times did we see rose get hinrich, deng or salmons a wide open shot and those guys would pump fake then try to step in to get a better shot and end up passing up a wide open 3 for a contested 20 footer? they are not the kind of guy's rose needs. i said when he was drafted that deng and hinrich had to go and

Ya just a verbal agreement, but like what Houston did with the LIN offer, they changed the offer last minute an that made New York back away. So Bulls front needs to think about this becuase there's a chance they might do this. Jeremy Lin will essentailly will be worth 52mil as a player once NY goes over the tax line.

Houston has too many players under contract after Lin became official, and have to waive someone. Plus you have to wait 48 hours for the player to clear waivers, before they can sign another. So Asik will get the offer sheet on Friday, and the Bulls will have until sunday night to decide.

I like Asik and that the Bulls got him in the draft like they did. But 14 m is too much. So if Houston submits an offer sheet with a poison pill on any of the years over 7 mil, The Bulls are best to go after Darko or some other euro big that blocks shots and rebounds. Asik is a solid player but he alone isn't a difference maker. Signing him to a bad contract could very well be a difference maker.

yup I think they waived 2 players without guranteed contracts or something like that...then they can make the offer to Asik...
perhaps they want a project pg and c as a back up to dwight
