^The fact that Hawes can't stay in front of any starting PF in the league might be a problem.
I agree. He can´t play the PF position, he doesnt have any lateral move, he look so slow. Tadd young like a stretch 4 maybe can work, but i don´t like the idea. Holiday Turner Young Bynum I don´t know who is gonna start at the PF spot.

Yes, that's the big problem with Hawes playing that position, there's a lot of excellent scorers at the PF spot in the league... that's when Brand really helped. Even Thadd is a better defender at PF.

Shouldn't be too hard to trade either Hawes or Kwame in 3 months. Both are on reasonable contracts.

And which of the these is Brand? Defensive anchor. You know, the guy allowed the lowest number of points per attempt in the post last season.

Young should start, in my opinion. But the Sixers will need to develop Allen and Moultrie. I think Allen will eventually gobble up minutes at the four spot that Hawes will have at the beginning of the season. And they wouldn't have traded next year's #1 for Moultrie to let him sit on the bench, a la Craig Brackins. As soon as neither is a liability, they offer much more to the team than Hawes.

Totally agree. Collins just like his midrange game. I think Lavoy Allen starting at the 4 makes way more sense. Even sliding Thaddeus to PF and starting Wright or Nick Young at 3. I think their biggest issue is backup PG however. Royal Ivey is alright, but Holiday is a 32 minute per game type of player and I don't want to play Ivey for 16 minutes a game.

and forfeits an extra 20 mil ?, I doubt it. He has to play like a beast and act civilized though but word is Philly doesn't like to spend big, or at least thats what my Philly peeps are saying.

No team besides LA or NY or Mia likes to spend big, but Bynum will be 25 before this season starts and is the 2nd best center in the league and an absolute stud. Philly will offer the max.

I think he'll stay. Where else would he go that'll be able to afford him and the requisite two other max contract guys to be considered a super team? I heard that he was interested in Cleveland(!) and they can probably afford him, but he'll be giving up $20 million to go to a lesser squad.

If Gasol and Bynum can work guarding 4s & 5s, then so can Hawes and Bynum.

Umm, no, Gasol actually is a PF who regularly guards opposing PF's. Hawes never guards PF's because he can't.
