Well Metta, I don't see AI going to Dallas especially at that $10M price. Also, he wants to play for a contender and, while you propose a decent team (those never really work...) I don't see the Mav's going the right direction, especially with Dirk getting older (no offense intended Mavs fans, just the reality as I see it). Still see AI re-signing with the Nuggets

re-sign (and try to bargain) collison/mayo/kaman or brand. try to get iggy and al jefferson (both are not max contract guys)..
send marion to whoever wants to take him (they should have just traded him for maggette. it would have benefited both CHA and DAL)

So say Howard and CP3 stay in LA,
I'd try to go for a line up of:
Calderon on a $3.5ish mil contract
Iggy on a $10mil ish contract
Smoove on a $12mil ish contract
Dirk
Kaman or Jefferson on a $9-10mil contract
Ellis/Henderson/Martin/Mayo as the 6th man.
Then strengthen bench by adding Nate, Blatche/Speights/Landry, Barnes, K-mart, Oden (on a smart low salary contract), and AJ Price.
Calderon made $11M this year, what makes you think he'll sign for $3.5M ?? |

Hedo Turkoglu made more than that, do you think he's going to expect that kind of money when his contract is up? Calderon is a veteran on the downswing of his career, a 3.5 mil on a hopefully solid team would be fine for him. |
