Ever since Oscar said he was overpaid, Taj has been on a tear the last couple weeks. In his last 5 games, Taj is averaging 21.4ppg/8.4rpg/1.6bpg while shooting 60% from the field. While it's hard to believe he can sustain those numbers, it's really nice to see somebody finally stepping up and taking on a bigger role in this offense other than Luol. Despite coming off the bench, Taj has had no issues finding minutes or shots the past few weeks and is really starting to look better than Carlos Boozer. Let's hope he can continue his production since the Bulls need all the offense they can get.

Lol no ***, he's been playing awesome. I'm not so secretly hoping Boozer gets hurt for the season.

I think that would destroy any hopes of the Bulls competing in the playoffs. At this point, Boozer healthy or not healthy really isn't effecting Taj. Rather have him produce sparingly or inconsistently than not having Booz at all. Losing Boozer would screw the rotation this season, forcing Thibs to just drive Gibson and Noah into the ground.

Taj plays Defense. Boozer may get you 20 points but how many does he cost you for missed rotations or just plain bad defense.
The front office loves Boozer, So I wouldn't be surprised if he plays out his contract.
For me they could have started Taj a long time ago ...

That sounds like another benefit to me.

They have averaged 74.5 in the last 2 games while giving up an average of 85. I am not seeing defense as the problem. Is the idea that with no Boozer- they will win games by the score of 65-63?

Well they were also missing 3 starters in one of those games and 4 in the other. But we can turn it into a WNBA team if you really want lol. 65-63 here we come!

IMO it no longer makes sense to count Rose as a starter since he is done for the season and the top 6 on the active roster are all used to playing without him.
Bulls starters expected for the rest of the season:
LD, CB, JN, KH, JB Off the bench:
TG, MD, MT, TS, NM
As I noted in another thread, very hard to judge Teague until he gets in the flow of playing with the expected starters.
If the Bulls can get everyone else back, there is no reason they can not be a top 4 team in the east.

I'd rather just keep Deng.

We don't have the shooters to surround Melo with to make this a good idea. Not to mention Thibs would probably kill the front office and himself in a murder-suicide after he heard the news. Not good for business.
