He has already said a couple of times he would like to keep playing in Europe and he doesn't want to leave while he is with a good team

I've been banging this drum since the off-season, Mirotic isn't signing with the Bulls this off-season. We have no leverage. He can command what he wants or he'll gladly stay overseas.

That is why Gar and Pax were in Spain recently. They know that they could have screwed the pooch on this one. If they are highly confident he will not re-sign with RM then they will have to free cap space and buy him out. If he signs another extension with RM then he could come over in 2018 or 2019 and not as a Bull.

They should dump his rights to the Bobcats, MJ would bite.

Then what if he comes over and is great ? If anything you dump his rights to Minny for Love.. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ozg6z6sLuol Deng Taj Gibson Jimmy Butler Rights to Niko Char. Pick --- for-- Kevin Love Corey Brewer Gorgui Dieng

We aren't getting Love unless its A) through free agency B) as an expiring contract that says he won't resign with the Wolves and will only play for the Bulls
Both options are unlikely as the Lakers will have a *** ton of cap room in the near future

Except they'd both be gone and they'd have an *** load of money to spend. They'd have at least one other star and probably another all star level player.

There is also a chance that he refuses to play for Charlotte or ever come over to the NBA, it would be one less headache for the Bulls.

No, it won't He'll always put an NBA clause in his contract, so he can come in NBA when he want. He is just leaving all thw poaaibilites opne, and earn more money if he decides to stay in Europe for another season

Nah that won't be on the discussion table. If he's signing an extension, he's staying in Madrid. The Bulls lose his draft rights eventually, and Mirotic also leaves a lot of money on the table. So if he signs an extension, it's clearly about wanting to stay overseas rather than money. The Bulls also aren't revolving thier plans around what Mirotic wants to do. If he just out of the blue wants to come over in 2015, maybe the Bulls don't have the financial flexibility. Chicago can't afford to sit and wait so if he doesn't sign this year, I don't see it happening.
