I understand it fine. I have been following NBA cap rules for a very long time. You just don't know how to read. I never said anything about anything your talking about.  B/C I all ready knew those facts, I just listed all the known expenses they had to show how much they were off by. I even proposed two trade ideas for Gibson, but you most have missed that. When you gain the ability of critical reading you might check out this site.

Well, that 2nd trade was just ridiculous.

All I was saying is that Chicago has to be really careful.  Noah + Rose + Love = $50.7 million.

What was the point of making that list of yours, then?  Why would you even include the MLE and the MMLE?  That made no sense.

Again, you didn't read carefully. Try again, your answer is in my previous text. I actually agreed with you but with such a low attention span you missed it. And for the record I feel they plan to skip out on Love and Anthony (which I think is a mistake) and they will trade Gibson and keep Boozer. I see them targeting a young prospect and using their pick(s) and Taj as bait. Then letting Boozer stick around one more year until Nikola Mirotic comes over. If he still has cold feet by 2015 summer, then they might deal his rights and or pursue Love. Bottom line is it cost Taj, Carlos and Mirotic to have Love, I got that, been got that. But there has to be a sequence to the moves or they can be left with pie in the face.

The "Boss" JR wants another star attraction but doesn't want to spend big money to get him. So that means a rookie. And they avoided the 2x repeater for a reason to avoid the 3x repeater. They foresee themselves over the tax threshold in the future, and needed a break in the repeating years. Mirotic is their guy, love it or hate it. But recent negotiations in Spain went bad, and now Jerry wants insurance. Nikola was insurance on Rose now there is no insurance on Rose b/c the Bulls have no clue if their prize Spaniard will even come over. So its time to wheel and deal and get a new attraction to keep sits full in-case Rose's return goes whaa whaa whaa. And if not then their a stud team and Rose is the talk of the town again. Their not ready to give up on Nikola yet. No one really wants Boozer and definitely not for a star player for sure. But Taj and/or Jimmy and the #14 pick could get them a top 10 prospect with a high ceiling this summer.

Why would you trade Gibson?

They will not have the cap space to do the options they foresee for themselves at power forward. Even if they amnesty Booze this summer, they will be short cap space for Mirotic, which now they see will cost them much more than a MLE. And if not Mirotic than they will need Gibson's 8 mil in cap space to pursue 2015 FA's namely Kevin Love.

As when they drafted Gibson, they had Tyrus Thomas sitting on cap space and moved him for the Charlotte pick. Now they will use the Charlotte pick to get off the 8mil Gibson is sitting on. The problem is the prospects they are high on are most likely gone before Charlotte's 16th selection. They like a half dozen top draft prospects including (Julius Randle of KY, Aaron Gordon of Arizona & Doug McDermotte of Creighton)  The front office would like to have one of them at PF to develop for a year and than play along side Nikola Mirotic or as insurance if he stays in Spain.

They don't have any plans to have Gibson as sole starter at power forward, this has angered Gibson's camp and even Gibson has shown displeasure with his role as bench mob captain. So again the Bulls foresee two futures one with Mirotic at pf and one without. However, both situations don't include Gibson. Without Mirotic they will chase after Love which they will need the cap space. With Mirotic they will also need more cap space and foresee getting a pf on the cheap like currently with Nas at center, or previously with Hakeem Warrick in Tyrus situation.

Their two trade assets are Taj and Jimmy. Although, Jimmy is still on his rookie deal and without moving out a large chuck of salary they will most likely lose him as well. So they would like to move Gibson this summer for a top draft choice. Several teams in Top 10 (Detroit, Boston, Los Angeles, Sac) have interest in trading back to 16 if they can receive Gibson in return. By moving Gibson they feel they can stay productive at the position while getting younger, cheaper and with a higher ceiling.

Yah, me too. But now Boozer has become a giant piggy bank. They could amnesty him, but they don't have anyone this summer their excited about in free agency. So their best to just keep him around until his deal expires in the summer next year. The money crunch combined with Mirotic's cold foot and Derrick's bum knees has shifted their thinking. Now they see the need to invest in the future more, and bringing in a top prospect could be the answer, because that player win, lose or draw will be locked into his rookie deal for several seasons.

2014-15

Rose - DJ - Jimmer
Butler - FA or Rook
Dunleavy - Snell
Boozer - Vet acquired this summer- Rookie
Noah - FA

2015-16

Rose - Vet (maybe Jimmer or DJ) - Rookie
Butler - (player acquired 2014)
FA - Snell
Miro or Love - Rookie from 2014
Noah - FA Vet

Plus, they may have a selection coming from Sac. Which depending on his development they may package with Butler. #YoungerCheaperHigherCeiling.

Yah I hear ya man. But if for some reason Taj and a pick gets them a stud prospect to pair with Rose and Noah... I'll watch Carlos another season happily.

No doubt about that trade off.

If the Bulls' front-court wasn't so stacked which will limit his minutes when everyone is healthy he would be a near lock for ROY. He has played way better than anyone other than maybe Parker, who's done for the year now.

Our front-court is quite balanced. Noah and Gibson provide us with defensive options while Gasol and Mirotic take care of the offense.
