I agree. But the only problem I see with that is that next year is the last time you can use the amnesty isn't it? There's no way they are giving up on Rose that quickly unless he can't move at all anymore. If next year isn't the last year to use it then this would be perfect.

No, it can be used in the 2015 off season.

The amnest cannot be used on Rose.  His extension was signed after the new CBA was passed.

Ah ok.

Even with knowing that, it'd still be great if they could get ANYTHING for Boozer and not have to use the amnesty at all.

Exactly, You would think there is a team with some expiring contracts that could use Boozer.. But now that they are playing all these below .500 teams and on a 5 game winning streak they may have been fooled into a title run this year...lmao.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mb6xrc6

Also, by trading Boozer you keep him away from teams like Miami and Indiana... Which would both be in the garage sale after he was amnestied .

Find another team like Cleveland that was desperate to acquire veteran talent in a small market. In the end the Bulls could have never resigned Deng and for nothing got the Cavs to fork over some picks on a dream they could resign Deng... not happening.

Now we need a team that could use Boozer ? ..hmmm.

Yeah, who could use one of the most overpaid players in the league with a season left on his contract after this one?

The Bulls would have to give up something of value (a 1st at the very least) in order to trade Boozer for an expiring this season.

Welcome to the Eastern Conference (sans Miami/Indy).

My statement in the Mirotic thread stands. Unless they get rid of almost everyone, Thibs is going to find a way to make it work. And even if they do they'll still win some games by sheer effort. If they make the playoffs, so be it. Such is the price of having a good coach that is committed to do his job (win basketball games) with whatever roster he is given.

Everyone gets caught up in the tank-a-palooza and don't realize that the coaches and players still want to win games. And this team is still probably more talented than half of the other teams in the Eastern Conference (if lacking in depth). And they have a coach that is able to get more out of the talent he is given to beat other more talented teams (see Nets, Brooklyn and Knicks, New York).

Not sure about all that.  A team like Phoenix could easily take on Boozer's contract for Okafor.  Their cap situation aligns perfectly with Boozer and all the other big contracts they have.  It would upgrade their front court without hurting the payroll.  Signing Bledsoe to an extension still wouldn't put them in the luxury and they'd have a good 40M coming off the books next year.

Not saying it's going to happen, but that's a deal where I wouldn't expect the Bulls to add any sort of pick or compensation.

And since PHX is getting way more talent, then maybe the Bulls could swap that Sac pick for one with less restrictions.

The Suns have extra picks they have collected.

2014 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-13 in 2014, 1-12 in 2015 or 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

2014 first round draft pick from Washington
Washington's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016, 1-10 in 2017, 1-10 in 2018 or 1-10 in 2019 or unprotected in 2020 [Phoenix-Washington, 10/25/2013]

2014 first round draft pick from Indiana
Indiana's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-14 in 2014, 1-14 in 2015, 1-14 in 2016, 1-14 in 2017, 1-14 in 2018 or 1-14 in 2019 or unprotected in 2020 [Indiana-Phoenix, 7/28/2013]

2015 first round draft pick from L.A. Lakers
L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-5 in 2015, 1-3 in 2016 or 1-3 in 2017 or unprotected in 2018 [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012]

No.  Boozer would kill their chemistry and he is just not worth it.  There is no upgrading about that trade, Boozer has negative offensive win shares this season, and has been really bad.  The Morris twins and Frye have the PF position and back-up center covered.

Phoenix could take on his salary, but they would need a reason to, like a 1st or some other value.  They are not going to do a favor for another team by taking on his salary for nothing.

Listen to Gar Forman speak about the core? He never mentions Boozer ? Man !! I hope they move him this year. So they can that Amnesty Clause in-case they need to use it for Rose ?

If I remember right, Rose's deal was just a little too late to be amnesty eligible.

Yes. Lol how would he kill thier chemistry?  By grabbing too many rebounds? On average the Suns get out rebounded and aren't a very good rebounding team to begin with. Not only would he improve thier rebounding by a country mile, but they'd actually have an inside presence which they completely lack on offense.

The Suns are a borderline playoff team and with Bledsoe out, they probably aren't going to make it.  Boozer would make a lot of sense if they were trying to make some noise this year or next.  There's no reason the Bulls would even consider adding a 1st rounder. His salary his high, who cares?  Rudy Gay, Joe Johnson, Luol Deng, Andrea Bargani, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce all guys that make bank yet found a way to be traded.  I didn't see very many first round picks attached to thier salaries.

Maybe because Boozer pounds the ball and kills ball movement?  Rudy Gay was traded for cap relief.  Luol Deng, Garnett, and Pierce were all net positives on the court when they were traded.  Boozer, over the last few tears, has been a net negative every year.  The Bulls have even been a better rebounding team with him on the bench.

Lol what does pounds the ball even mean?  If this was baseball that would be a good thing..

Also the ball movement thing isn't very relevant, considering Phoenix is dead last in the nba in assists.  Boozer would be 2nd among Phoenix big men in assists per game.

He holds/dribbles the ball too much.  They are 29th in assists, but part of that is being 15th in FGs.  Boozer holds the ball too much, and he does get an okay amount of assists, but his turnovers are way too high.

You are being a delusional homer.
