The rookies for the Bulls made the ESPN list for teams that did good this summer...
Check it out...
Chicago Bulls: Thabo Sefalosha showed he's going to be able to step in right away and contribute to the Bulls. Sefalosha played only two games, but he excelled at just about everything -- he shot the ball well, played great defense, handled the ball a little and rebounded.
Chicago's higher pick, Tyrus Thomas, was more of a mixed bag. When Thomas stuck to what he does well -- rebounding, shot-blocking and playing around the basket -- he looked very good. When he tried to be a wing player, the results weren't so hot.
Thomas, a natural power forward, took six 3-pointers in Orlando and made just one. While there is talk that he might be able to play small forward someday, it's going to take a while before he can contribute there -- especially since the Bulls upped the stakes by adding Ben Wallace to the mix.
If Thomas sticks to what he does well, he has a shot at breaking into the rotation this year.

I think that both rookies have a chance to be all stars. Paxson is a draft god.

Tyrus Thomas doesn't need to play the wing, he's got Deng and Noiconi. Stick to the post and own.

I really hope TT does not try too hard to be a 3. He can develop a SF's game at the 4 and be far more effective. Look at what Marion has been doing the past two seasons!

Marions been having a tough time, actually. I think playing at PF will shorten his career, because he is not made for banging.
That said, Tyrus Thomas is a PF first a foremost.

I'm pretty sure the Bulls weren't too worried that Thomas didn't just do what he's good at currently... staying in the low post, grabbing rebounds, sticking put backs and blocking shots. They wanted to see what his skill set was against bigger and faster players the what he saw in college.
Thomas showed the ability to get past players on the wings, hell, he had a clear out from the top of the key, took his guy to the lane, spun on him and almost put down a tommyhawk dunk. He has a very fluid jump shot but it's not consistant, that should come with time. Also on a missed shot... he jumped from the weakside, stole a rebound from a defender and almost was able to dunk it without coming down.
He also grabbed a loose rebound by tipping the ball to himself behind the back and then attacked the basket from the wing all in one motion.
Thomas may be able to contribute to the Bulls this year and of course he'll stick with what he does well at this time... rebound, defense and shotblocking... but he showed alot of flashes of what he COULD be in the future... and what he could be is an AWSOME NBA player who could make the highlight reel every night he plays.
Thomas looks like he has the chance to be a star in the NBA... but that's still a few seasons away!

I think at first, he can play SF then maybe after his rookie season, he can develop into a PF.
Remember - LeBron in his rookie season was a PG, then his sophomore season he became a SG , and now he's a SF.
Thomas can undergo the same type of transition (except from SF to PF).

Well, it looks like the Bulls drafted another doberman for their defense. Don't be surprised if his offense develops as the season goes. No use in holding him back. TT is coming off the bench, but he's going to have some impact this year.
