I think there's only two organizations that will catch his eye at the moment. Anyone that thinks otherwise is trolling themselves.

The Lakers (primary)

The Bulls (secondary)

Everything else is a mess and no way close to contention.

New York Knicks are in a mess.

Brooklyn Nets show that guys like Johnson and Williams are just after $$$ not contention, they've been like *** ever since they've been there.

The Clippers have everything they need.

OKC is a smaller market and will just want to work with the core they've developed and just add a few good role players here and there to touch it up.

Sure...Love can be traded to a bad organization or a bad or weaker market in comparison, but what good will that do when he'd leave them the following year?

That only leaves the most realistic options with either the Lakers or the Bulls.

The Lakers will try to find a good back-court pair by the time he's available. I wouldn't be surprised if they were to go after Irving or draft some top prospect and build the same way the Clippers did with Griffin and Paul. If the Lakers are able to get a top point guard and some excellent role players, Love will probably consider that his first option. The weather is excellent and the organization is not stingy like Chicago when it comes to spending. The Lakers have the money and will spend the money if they know it will get them that much closer to a ring. That's really attractive for competitive players.

The Bulls have the lackluster Eastern Conference where 2-3 teams can easily make the Eastern Conference Finals and their odds of making it to the finals are not bad either considering a lot of these teams are not near complete and have some human weaknesses (i.e. Indiana has no playmaker, Miami concedes rebounds because of a lack of a monster big) etc.

So in terms of competition the East is attractive even if the weather sucks, spend less on building teams etc. But the only concern for the Bulls is Rose's health. Love will definitely be paying attention to this. I'm sure he has great amount of respect to Noah, Thib, the defensive system that gets the stops, the way players are developed into great all around players that deliver on both ends. But if Rose is a liability or a concern (which seems plausible at this point), then the Lakers seem to have the upper hand.

Mirotic or Love would be ideal.

Rose's health is a concern. Not sure what the rule is, however, can't teams talk freely with agents not players unless their a FA ? Somehow the Bulls need to get Love the message using back channels, and then all they have to do is wait until next summer. You bring up a big point I thought about but didn't post. Thibs is huge in this situation.

Don't believe it's a 2 dog race either. I feel he could go to Portland  as well if Portland is serious about moving out Aldridge. Portland is home for Love, just read his tweets  https://twitter.com/kevinlove(by the way, he  made a recent tweet regarding Noah) however combining Lillard Love and Batum could appeal to him, but he would still be in the west which is packed with good teams. The Bulls record this season would have them fighting for the 8th spot in the west.

The Bulls really have to do nothing at this point. Boozer's contract slot lines up perfect, and other than drafting rookies and shaving their salaries to keep them below the luxury line their good. Next season Rose returns healthy (fingers crossed) and than Minny will start to squirm a little. Offering Love in trade discussions. This is where Chicago has to stand strong. When Dwight was in the spotlight, The rockets were in contact with the Magic and Howards agent. I'm sure Dwight knew he could be a rocket when he was traded to LA. and thus he just waited LA out until his ship came in.

If Love wants the Max deal than Bulls need to work sign and trade with whatever team he is currently with. This is where Mirotic and or Gibson can be used as chips, and shave the remaining salary needed for the Bulls to stay under the luxury tax. At that point the team he is with is on the hook and will take anything over nothing when he walks. However, I don't see him caring about the added salary increases, and can just sign out right with the team of his choice. The new Bruise brothers...lol.

Yeah, it's definitely a white flag. You didn't even try to argue against anything I said. Then you went to a pretty awful insult. It's okay dude. Everyone knows you're an unrealistic homer.

I'll try to be civil with you though. So tell me, why are you making it seem like the Lakers and Bulls are Love's only places to go? What makes you think Minnesota wouldn't trade him to a team who has better trade assets? What makes you think a team would trade for him for a half season rental with no promise of re-signing?

Face it, the chances of him going to the Bulls are very, very small.

Realistically, Taj starting with Mirotic getting more and more minutes off the bench as he gets used to Thibs' system defensively. I really don't see this organization parting with Taj any time soon, as that would really p*ss Thibs (and probably Joakim) off.

If Mirotic is all he's cracked up to be on offense, I could see him leading some bench units (along with Augustin if we bring him back) while Rose sits. The problem is you need a good defensive big to cover up his weaknesses...so maybe Thibs sets the rotation in a way that he's always playing with either Noah or Taj.

The talk of Love is nice and all, but not worth the huge price they would have to pay in trade assets/money/cap space to get him. He is a very very good player but a bit of a stat-padder and a liability on defense. I would definitely rather have Love than Melo (god no...), but neither of them are necessary. If Rose comes back healthy and close to his old self and if the Bulls have a good draft/sign a few solid FAs they will have a contender. A lot of ifs obviously, but that's the NBA.

I will happily take Aldridge back if the Blazers are dead set on making a play for Love.

Bulls oragnizations and fans better hope that the right answer is Mirotic, because it would mean they can have a starter locked for quite cheap price for 3 or 4 years
