The Bucks have New York investors/owners now...the Bucks might be in the play for Melo.

We'll see if he can be sold on coming here with Doc Rivers if he wants to leave Sterling and the Clippers.

Stay tune. Keep hope alive.

Melo would never go to Milwaukee.  He is only interested in big markets.  Also, Rivers is locked into a contract for another two seasons.

Keep hope alive indeed, also maybe Charlotte will make some tweaks and throw Melo a bone!

Just to highlight how stupid all of this "there's nothing the Knicks can do" nonsense is, here is something very simple the Knicks can do: buy out Amare and Bargnani.  For most teams buying out $35 million in contracts is unthinkable but in the year the Knicks made the second round they set an NBA record for operating income and they passed the Lakers as the most valuable NBA franchise despite the Lakers record setting TV deal, so spending that money can be seen as a very smart investment.
must admit. Never even thought of this.  Hmmmm

Nobody has said they're thinking about doing it but it's obviously an option given the ridiculous amount of money they make when they're good and their desire to keep Melo. It's an easy way to show him that the discount he gives them on a contract goes directly to jumpstarting the building of a new and better team.

The Zen Master would be the one to convince him and concoct this plan. I don't know what will happen but I would not bet against Phil.

I'm interested to see how Phil rebuilds the team with or without Melo. The 2015 season should be quite interesting. A couple miraculous changes here and there can take them back to the playoffs considering how poor the East is but how would be able to make them contenders? Let's see what happens.

It's possible, but I personally don't know how likely they are to buy out Amare and Bargnani just I haven't heard much about them pursuing that. It seems like a big gamble to spend $35 million erasing players, possibly having Melo return or walk, and possibly hitting it big or striking out in free agency. Obviously, you have to take risks to make something happen, but a number of things have to fall right into place for them to get to the 2nd round and/or bring in income similar to that of the NBA record operating income.

Quote
The whispers out of Chicago for the past month have been increasingly hopeful when it comes to the Bulls' chances of swiping Melo away from the Knicks. No one is saying so for public consumption, but quiet optimism about their chances is palpable.

Melo's repeated public claims in recent weeks that he's prepared to prioritize winning over top dollar was the first bit of encouragement. The subsequent news that the 2014-15 salary cap is projected to be nearly $5 million higher than it was this season only added to the sentiment.

Among some rival teams, meanwhile, Chicago's seemingly minor late-signing signings of veterans Lou Amundson, Ronnie Brewer and Mike James were interpreted as a signal that the Bulls must have something up their sleeve, because that trio's fully non-guaranteed combined salary of $4.07 millions theoretically adds up to a useful trade chip in a major deal.
