Now that the big time NBA free agents are off the market, and summer league play completed. NBA teams now have a better ideal of what their rosters will look like entering the 2014-2015 pre-season. While much attention has been on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, and Miami Heat. Not enough attention has been placed on Phil Jackson & co.. Currently the New York Knicks are the most poised team to win the Eastern conference championship simply because of their leadership.

Phil Jackson and newly acquired coach Derek Fisher have 18 NBA championships between them. Not to mention, Phil Jackson has never been apart of a losing organization. He has already made a solid first step by getting rid the inconsistent, and at times the lazy play of Tyson Chandler & Raymond Felton. By making this trade he saved the Kn icks $3.5+ million toward the 2014-2015 salary cap, and added much needed talent at the PG/SG position by adding Jose Calderon, Wayne Ellington, and Shane Larkin. There has also been talks about possibly unloading Iman Shumpert, along with the disappointing play and contracts of Amare Stoudemire, and Josh Smith. So please, keep looking at Cleveland if you want to, but the Zen Master will show you why your money and eyes should be on the New York Knickerbockers. The turn around in New York has began, the only real question is, can Carmelo Anthony push his game to the next level where he is inclusive of his team mates?
